Spezieria di San Marco, a new brand that is inspired by the heritage of eau de Cologne and the activity of apothecaries to offer an iconic fragrance product.
This fragrance personifies the purest form of Eau de Cologne. The fragrance includes the sweet and fruity richness of Bergamot, followed by herbaceous and balsamic notes; Lemon, with a sparkling, vivacious and sugary impact, combines with Orange, which is sweet and sour. The heart reveals the fresh and floral soul of Petitgrain, which recalls orange blossom with a woody-herbaceous undertone, while Neroli, fresh and with an aristocratic soul, with green inflections, gives a touch of elegance. The fragrance is completed with two musks: SerenolideTM, comfortable and soft, and HelvetolideTM, with more linear, rich and warm tones.
This first Cologne was created by Nisrine Grillié, symbol of fragrances with a strong personality. Spezieria di San Marco enjoys a cultural partnership with the Fondazione Museo of the Scuola Grande di San Marco and Sanità and aims to spread the tradition of Venetian apothecaries.
The Spezieria di San Marco recalls the golden age of medieval drug shops, similar to modern pharmacies, where natural medicines were prepared by exploiting the therapeutic virtues of plants. In Venice, in 1600, Giovanni Paolo Feminis created the ‘Aqua mirabilis’, which was sold as an antidote to various ills. From this came the Acqua di Colonia of Giovanni Maria Farina who, trained with his grandmother Caterina Gennari, launched it in Cologne, making it the perfume capital of the 18th century.
