Client: Oknoplast

The forests of the sea play a fundamental role in maintaining the natural balance indispensable for our life and for that of the Planet: produce more than 50% of the oxygen we breathe and absorb about one third of the excess carbon dioxide caused by human activities with a speed 35 times greater than terrestrial plants. Unfortunately, however, it is estimated that in Italy alone more than 30% of the submerged grasslands and up to 80% of the algal forests have been lost and it is expected that by 2050 there will be a further regression of 21% due to pollution, climate change and other human activities such as coastal urbanisation, trawling and wild anchorage.
On the occasion of the World Oceans Day - 8 June - Oknoplast supports the project of Marevivo "Replant" which consists in putting into practice experiments of planting the Cymodocea nodosa, considered among threatened and declining habitats. The ultimate goal is to be able to reforest the sea one day and thus launch a wider campaign of scientific dissemination and awareness of the vital role of these marine environments.
